2022-23 Baird Fellow: Sean O‘Farrell
Graduate student Sean O‘Farrell in USM's Center for the Study of the Gulf South will give this year’s Baird Lecture titled, "More Than a Club: The Hi-Hat, the Chitlin' Circuit, and Palmer's Crossing." The presentation will dive into the role clubs played in African American Communities.
O‘Farrell's research focuses on the Chitlin' Circuit and Black-owned music clubs and their interactions within their local communities in the second half of the twentieth century.
