About this Event
USM's School of Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering and the Center for Science and Mathematics Education will host a GenCyber JROTC Summer Camp which focuses on cybersecurity career paths.
JROTC cadets are invited to apply! Cadets will learn from USM faculty and industry professionals as each camp will provide hands-on learning activities that will allow participants to learn cybersecurity vulnerabilities, cyber defense, cybercrime and ethics and how safe online behavior is crucial to our national security.
Camp participants will also spend time at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center near Hattiesburg and will travel one day by bus to Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. Cadets will stay overnight in residence halls on the main campus of USM for a week. Meals will be provided through USM Dining Services and at Camp Shelby and Keesler on days that we visit them.
GenCyber is part of the solution to the nation's shortfall of skilled cybersecurity professionals. GenCyber camps are offered at no cost to participants. These camps are funded by the National Science Foundation/National Security Agency’s GenCyber program.
