American Foundation for Suicide Prevention: "Out of the Darkness Walk"

The USM School of Psychology will host an "Out of the Darkness Walk" supporting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The "Out of the Darkness Walk" is a journey of remembrance, hope and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental illness have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about.

Since 2018, these walks at USM have raised over $35,000 for suicide prevention and featured over 600 registered walkers and dozens of student volunteers. This year’s event will be held in-person with funds raised benefitting education and suicide prevention efforts in Hattiesburg and nationally.

Registration: 9 to 10 a.m.
Opening Ceremony: 10 a.m.
