Aimee Nezhukumatathil is the author of The New York Times-bestselling collection of essays, "World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies," "Whale Sharks and Other Astonishments" and four celebrated collections of poetry including "Miracle Fruit" and "At the Drive-In Volcano."

She is the winner of the Pushcart Prize, the Angoff Award, the Boatwright Prize and numerous other awards. In 2016-17, Nezhukumatathil was the Grisham writer-in-residence at the University of Mississippi, where she is currently professor of English in the MFA program. Her work takes inspiration from her Filipina and Malayali Indian heritage and a love of nature.
