At a moment when individual and collective responses to pandemic policies in the U.S. have become highly politicized, how might a consideration of early modern plague outbreaks help us think through the collective challenges we face today? Please join us for a streamed performance of Ben Jonson’s *The Alchemist* (1610), a satiric plague-time comedy that invites contemporary audiences to explore the tensions between individual and collective experiences of epidemiological outbreaks—past and present.

This event will also feature a pre-performance talk and post-performance Q&A with the production’s director, Brent Griffin of Resurgens Theatre Company.
