About this Event
Gonzales Auditorium, LAB 108
The annual CSGS Showcase is a day of engaging discussions and scholarship focused on the Gulf South. William Browning, 2025 Baird Fellow and M.A. candidate in History (Advisor: Kevin Green), will present his lecture titled "'Let There Be One': Uncovering P.D. East and The Petal Paper." A reception in the lobby of LAB will be held prior to this lecture to honor his achievements. (Reception starts at 4 p.m., lecture at 5 p.m.)
This year's event also features presentations by Dr. Laura Mammina (assistant professor of History at USM) and Julia Speed (2022 Harrison County Teacher of the Year, Southern Miss Alumna), each offering unique insights into the region’s history, education, and journalism.
