CMCB Fall Seminars: Jason Gigley, Ph.D., Molecular Biologist
The Center for Molecular and Cellular Biosciences (CMCB) is hosting a series of 10 seminars with top university scientists, sponsored by Mississippi IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE). Our second seminar in the series will feature Dr. Jason Gigley via Zoom.
Gigley's research focuses on how nutritional immunity and disease tolerance can be used to combat Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii), a dangerous foodborne pathogen that can kill people with immune deficiencies as well as developing fetuses. His seminar is titled, Complex Functions of Group 1 Innate Lymphoid Cells in Immunity to T. gondii.
He is currently an associate professor of molecular biology at the University of Wyoming.
