CMCB Fall Seminars: Wes Sundquist, Ph.D., Retroviruses, Emphasis on HIV
The Center for Molecular and Cellular Biosciences (CMCB) is hosting a series of 10 seminars with top university scientists, sponsored by Mississippi IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE), Our seventh seminar in the series will feature Dr. Wes Sundquist.
Dr. Sundquist is Samuels Professor and Co-Chair of the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Utah. He is also a member of the Cell Response and Regulation Program at Huntsman Cancer Institute. His seminar is titled, "Structure and Function of the HIV Capsid."
Dr. Sundquist’s lab studies the cellular, molecular and structural biology of retroviruses, particularly HIV, and the roles of the ESCRT pathway in cell division and the abscission checkpoint.
