Guest Artists Jay Kacherski and Lina Morita, husband and wife guitar and piano duo, will play a marvelous program of music for their unique ensemble.

Guitarist and Fulbright Scholar, Kacherski, met pianist Lina Morita when they were both working on their masters and doctorates at The Eastman School of Music. Kacherski received his doctorate from The Butler School at UT-Austin. Morita is a Professor of Piano at McNeese State University, and Kacherski is a guitar instructor at the Loyola University of New Orleans, the University of New Orleans, McNeese State University, and NOCCA - the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts.

The School of Music appreciates the annual support of the Mr. and Mrs. James Simrall, Jr. Arts Endowment. The Connoisseurs Series is a premiere event series representing each applied area (Brass, Jazz, Piano, Voice, and Woodwinds) with annual guest artist performances. These renowned performers augment the training our students regularly receive by the world-class faculty housed within the School of Music and add to the rich musical offerings presented annually to the Hattiesburg and regional community.
