For over 50 years, the Fay B. Kaigler Children's Book Festival has hosted librarians, authors, illustrators and storytellers on USM's campus. In addition to breakout sessions informing attendees on the latest strategies and topics in librarianship and children's literature, keynote speakers from the world of children's literature will be on hand to talk about their work! 2026 Southern Miss Medallion winner Meg Medina (Tia Issa Wants A Car) will accept her award Thursday. Other keynote speakers include Ben Clanton, Lee Ostertag, Molly Idle, Amanda Jones, Don Tate and John Green.
