GCRL Science Café: Robin Overstreet, Honoring His Life and Career

Please join us for a hybrid GCRL virtual and in-person Science Café honoring the life and career of Robin Overstreet, one of the top scientists ever to hail from Mississippi. Robin spent his entire scientific career spanning more than 50 years at the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory and was widely acknowledged as the premier marine parasitologist in the nation, if not the world. He was broadly knowledgeable and accomplished in a variety of fields of marine science including environmental toxicology, ecology, aquaculture, and fisheries management. The presentation is a panel discussion with interaction with the audience. Major accomplishments of Robin’s career and aspects of his colorful life will be discussed.

Special thank you to the sponsor of the Science Café, MS-AL Sea Grant and to USM’s Marine Education Center for technical support.
