University Libraries’ Special Collections is hosting an opening for exhibits curated by Honors College students. The opening will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 in McCain Library and Archives room 305.
The event features exhibits curated by sophomore Honors College students as part of their seminar course, “Einstein, Civil War Nutrition, and Cults? Exploring Archival Collections and Research,” which focuses on active learning experiences in Special Collections. Taught by Jennifer Brannock, a curator in University Libraries’ Special Collections, the students are learning about archival and special collections research while getting hands-on experience with materials found in the Libraries’ collections. The exhibit includes seven one-case exhibits highlighting the varied materials found in Special Collections.
The exhibit will be available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in McCain Library and Archives Room 305 from Nov. 7, 2024, to May 31, 2025. The opening is free, and light refreshments will be served.
