The Center for Digital Humanities is partnering with Geography and Geology on a three-part workshop series designed to introduce beginners to mapping humanities data with digital tools.
Sessions are open to all USM students, faculty, and staff from any discipline.
Session #1 | Friday, October 20
Learn the basics of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), how to prepare data to be mapped, and performing some basic analysis & visualization.
Session #2 | Friday, November 3
Tutorial for taking GIS data and sharing it on the web.
Session #3 | Friday, November 17
Two-hour session inviting participants to bring their own data for hands-on guidance and feedback.
Participants do not need to attend all the workshops to benefit from any of the sessions.
