Dr. Michael DeArmey will deliver a presentation titled "Plato's Symposium: Unraveling the Quest for an Intrinsic Definition of Eros."

Plato's Symposium is one of the top 3 documents ever written on love.  The subject matter of the Symposium is eros--passionate and energized love. I guide the listener through the dialogue, ending with Socrates' attempt to define what is essential to eros--those characteristics which make something a member of that class. 

The Colloquium Series serves as a platform for Philosophy and Religion faculty, as well as occasional guest speakers, to engage in informal presentations of their current research endeavors.
