Picturing Identity in Early Modern French Ballet and Masquerade
Revelry 2022 - Join us to see art historian, Sarah Buck, examine the evolution of French costume design in ballets and masquerades of the early modern era. With the assistance of a colorful, dazzling and delightful cast of characters created by artists of the School of Fontainebleau and of the courts of the Bourbon dynasty, she demonstrates how costume design was shaped by the writings of contemporary dance theorists.
It will be an interesting and engaging lesson in history!
