Guest speakers, Julian Rankin, author of "Catfish Dream: Ed Scott’s Fight for His Family Farm and Racial Justice in the Mississippi Delta," and Willena Scott-White, daughter of the book’s pioneering subject, will discuss and unravel the truth of her late father.

Catfish Dream centers around the experiences, family, and struggles of Ed Scott Jr., a prolific farmer in the Mississippi Delta and the first ever nonwhite owner and operator of a catfish plant in the nation. The presentation is part of a series of lectures organized by Dr. Bob Press for his Introduction to Political Science (PS 101) class.
