T.W. Bennett Symposium

Dr. Jeffrey Wiggins, 2023-2025 T.W. Bennett Distinguished Professor, will deliver the keynote address at the Biennial Bennett Symposium. His presentation, titled "Molecules to Mechanics – Fundamental Research with a Purpose," will showcase his groundbreaking research.

An expert in advanced aerospace composite materials, Dr. Wiggins specializes in developing innovative polymers through a "molecules to mechanics" approach that seamlessly integrates molecular modeling, synthesis and pilot-scale manufacturing.

Additional session themes will include Translating Research into Practice, Academics with a Purpose, Business with a Purpose, plus a panel session on Translational Research and Impact.

Supported by the T.W. Bennett Endowment, the professorship was established through the USM Foundation by Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Bennett, Sr. in honor of their son and his passion for science.
